What’s the difference between a flow cytometer, a cell sorter, and a cell counter?

    A flow cytometer analyzes individual cells and measures multiple characteristics. A cell sorter performs the same analysis while also physically separating selected cell populations. A cell counter measures cell concentration and viability.

What are the laser colors used for?

Each laser excites specific fluorochromes, enabling multiple cellular markers to be detected simultaneously. Common laser wavelengths include Violet (405 nm), Blue (488 nm), Yellow-Green (561 nm), and Red (635–640 nm).

What does an automated flow cytometer do?
