Gutfast

Description

Functional GI disorders are defined as chronic abdominal symptoms without any structural abnormality. Common functional GI disorders are Functional Dyspepsia (FD), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Irritable bowel syndrome affects approximately 10%–15% of the population. GERD is characterized by symptoms of heartburn and regurgitation caused by reflux of stomach content.

Indications

• Functional dyspepsia
• Gastro-esophageal reflux disease
• Irritable bowel syndrome – constipation
• Reflux esophagitis

Composition

Each tablet of Gutfast contains:

• Pantoprazole – 40 mg
• Levosulpiride SR – 75 mg

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Adverse Effects

Minimal adverse effects are reported which include galactorrhea, drowsiness, fatigue, hyperprolactinaemia and headache. Overall incidence of side effects reported in clinical trials with levosulpiride is lower compared to domperidone.
