Acenac-N

Description

Mixed pain syndrome is associated with conditions like low back pain, sciatica, radiculopathy (cervical & lumbar) & chronic post operative pain. Aceclofenac takes care of nociceptive (inflammatory) pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Pregabalin binds to α2-δ subunit of voltage gated calcium channels & reduces the release of neurotransmitters like glutamate and substance P. This reduction in neurotransmitter release accounts for pregabalin’s analgesic action. Both component of mixed pain syndrome nociceptive (inflammatory) & neuropathic pain are taken care by aceclofenac & pregabalin respectively.

Indications

• Low back pain
• Sciatica
• Cervical radiculopathy
• Lumbar radiculopathy
• Post-operative pain following orthopedic surgery

Composition

Each tablet contains :

• Aceclofenac Sustained release – 200 mg
• Pregabalin Sustained release – 75 mg

Dose

1 tablet once daily or as directed by the physician.

Adverse effects

Dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, edema, weight gain, abdominal pain.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Acenac- N is available as a strip of 10 tablets.
