Bourse Africa is the first multi-asset exchange from Mauritius. The exchange is licenced and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius to offer commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, CFDs, Equity Derivatives, Equity Securities, Debt Securities and ETFs.
Bourse Africa facilitates trading on derivatives for a basket of commodities, currencies, and equities. The currency of trade is the US Dollar and trading is conducted from 10 am to 10 pm (Mauritian time). The platform is operational from Monday to Friday, except on trading holidays.
Bourse Africa envisions being the global hub for Africa-centric risk management, trading, investing and capital-raising requirements. The team’s focus is geared towards market democratisation initiatives – include market education, product innovation, pan-African and global collaborations, state-of-the-art technology implementation and ensuring a high level of support and service to all market participants be it local or international.
The exchange offers a state-of-the-art electronic trading platform with efficient clearing and settlement systems. Bourse Africa, formerly known as Global Board of Trade (GBOT) Ltd, symbolises the opportunities offered by the African Financial and Commodities Markets.
The exchange, located at the crossroads of Africa and Asia, offers global investors the benefit of the Mauritian time zone (GMT + 4) that aligns with the market timings of Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States.
Clearing and Settlement
BOURSE AFRICA CLEAR LTD is the designated Clearing House of Bourse Africa and acts as the counterpart to its Clearing Members. Bourse Africa Clear is also licenced by the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
The Clearing House has adopted the best practices available in the industry to ensure transactions are managed and completed seamlessly, which include capital adequacy norms for membership, dedicated settlement guarantee fund, globally accepted margining system, real-time monitoring of member positions based on position limits, automatic trading restrictions on breach of Margin/Mark to Market limits and multilateral netting of obligations.
Membership
All trades on the Bourse Africa platform are executed only by or through the registered members of Bourse Africa. Membership is offered in the following categories: Trading Member, Trading-cum-Clearing Member, Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member and Professional Clearing Member.
