The Public Bodies Appeal Tribunal was established in June 2009 under Section 91A of the Constitution. The PBAT Act 2008 defines the role and powers of the Tribunal.
Objectives
To hear and determine appeals from public officers and local government officers against any decision of the Public Service Commission or Local Government Service Commission pertaining to an appointment exercise or to a disciplinary action taken.
To provide redress to aggrieved Public and Local Government Officers quickly and at lesser cost.
