At the age of three, she started learning theatre from her paternal aunt, the renowned actress Keya Chakraborty. Her journey in cinema started as an assistant director to the filmmakers Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Rituparno Ghosh on the films\u00a0<em>Uttora\u00a0<\/em>(2000),\u00a0<em>Mondo Meyer Upakhyan\u00a0<\/em>(2002),\u00a0<em>Chokher Bali<\/em>\u00a0(2003) and\u00a0<em>Shubho Mahurat\u00a0<\/em>(2003) among others. As a filmmaker\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cherry.tv\/blog\/linda-cardellini-nude\">cherry<\/a>, she has directed several award-winning documentaries, shorts and one feature film. Her film\u00a0<em>Madur\u00a0<\/em>won the Best Film award at the Dhaka International Film Festival. She also won the Best Director award for her film\u00a0<em>Binisutarmala<\/em>\u00a0at the International Women\u2019s Film Festival, Kolkata. Besides filmmaking, she has worked as a casting director on several international film projects including Sara Gavron\u2019s\u00a0<em>Brick Lane\u00a0<\/em>(2008), Sangita Datta\u2019s\u00a0<em>Life Goes On<\/em>\u00a0(2009) and Italo Spinelli\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1436327\/\"><em>Behind the Bodice<\/em><\/a>(2010).
