Furthermore, many diplomatic missions based in Mauritius have expressed difficulties in meeting with local Chinese businessmen whenever they have trade delegations visiting Mauritius. This is in spite of the fact that visually, Chinese people are seen to be a very active component of the local business field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote interaction among business persons and professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate meetings between members and visiting business persons and professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote activities, locally and overseas, for the benefit of the business and professional sectors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster links and affiliations with other business and professional associations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Represent the interests of its members vis-\u00e0-vis governmental and non-governmental authorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1998, the CBC has organised various trade and investment missions to countries like China, Malaysia, South Africa, Namibia, Madagascar and Pakistan. Today, CBC is very proud to represent a group of over 300 businessmen and professionals from the Chinese community. They are very much aware of the problems within the Chinese Community in Mauritius, especially the generation gap between the old and the young generation. The old generation which has been mostly educated in Chinese schools speak the mother tongue language (Chinese) whereas the young generation which has been educated in French\/English schools can only speak French and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CBC fortunately regroups a team that makes room for the young, the not-so-young and the older generation. They are realistic enough to realise that it will take us time to bridge the gap between the generations.
